Quick Premier League matchweek 31 results and La Liga matchweek 30 results recap post.
Premier League had few interesting match-ups on Tuesday 4th of April andWednesday 5th of April. Here are the Premier League matchweek 31 results and La liga matchweek 30 results.
Premier League matchweek 31 results, Tuesday 4th of April:
- Burnley 1-0 Stoke
- Leicester City 2-0 Sunderland
- Watford 2-0 West Bromwich
- Manchester United 1-1 Everton
Premier League matchweek 31 results, Wednesday 5th of April:
- Swansea 1-3 Tottenham
- Hull city 4-2 Middlesbrough
- Southampton 3-1 Cerystal Palace
- Arsenal 3-0 West Ham
- Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City
- Liverpool 2-2 Bournemouth
Some of the Premier League matchweek 31 results instantly capture the attention; MUFC lost 2 points, Everton lost 2 points(or gained 1 point??), Liverpool lost 2 point, MCFC lost 3 points. Not a good day for Manchester/Liverpool clubs.
Where as the Londoners, well the big Londoners anyway, got away with 3 points. Most spectacular surely was Tottenham’s last-minute turn-around, they were 1-0 down at 88th minute and won the match 1-3! Arsenal took care of the “miniature London Derby” vs West Ham. And Chelsea won 2-1 at home in the biggest Premier League match of the matchweek 31, Chelsea vs Manchester City.
So what does these Premier League matchweek 31 results mean for the BPL Title competition? Well, nothing changed. Except the fact that MCFC is pretty much out of the competition, same could be said for Liverpool. Which in return means that the Premier League title is going to be decided between Chelsea and Tottenham. Chelsea still have 7 points lead at the top with 72 points in comparison to Tottenham’s 65.
The more interesting battle in Premier League is about the other Champions League qualification positions, 3rd and 4th place finisher’s. With Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United all within 6 points of each others. Arsenal and Manchester United both have 2 matches in hand while Manchester City has 1 match in hand. This is bad news for Liverpool as potentially all of the other 3 teams can catch it up.
NextPremier League match day is on this weekend; Saturday/Sunday/Monday, unfortunately there is not really anything special offered in terms of single matches. Before hand the most interesting match-up is Everton vs Leicester on Sunday. Lucky for us football fans, other leagues have plenty to offer throughout the weekend. More about that below. Though there are some big Premier League matches still coming up in April, some of which you will find from the 24 Huge football matches in April post.
La Liga matchweek 30 results:
- Athletic Bilbao 2-o Espanyol
- Atletico Madrid 1-0 Real Sociedad
- Real Betis 0-1 Villarreal
- Barcelona 3-0 Sevilla
- Alaves 0-1 Osasuna
- Sporting Gijon 0-1 Malaga
- Deportivo la Coruna 0-0 Granada
- Leganes 2-4 Real Madrid
- Eibar vs Las Palmas will be played on Thursday 18.30
- Valencia vs Celta Vigo will be played on Thursday 20.30
Barcelona vs Sevilla was an interesting match before-hand. But the reality was nothing as expected, Sevilla was a HUGE letdown on the first half. I havent seen them play so poorly in years. Though, Barcelona played well, really well, but their performance is slightly undermined by the fact that Sevilla was DREADFUL. Atletico won 1-0 against Real Sociedad and come out to el derbi Madrileño on top form. Real Madrid took a semi comfortable away victory from the other Madrid Derby away at Leganes. Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid on Saturday 8th of April will be a HUGE MATCH!
Out of the remaining La Liga matchweek 30 matches, Valencia vs Celta Vigo should be a very entertaining encounter. Best odds for the match at the time of writing are offered by Unibet: Valencia 26/25, draw 51/20, Celta Vigo 27/10. The match can also be watched for free, like every other La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 matches, check out how to watch football for free for more information.
That’s it for a quick La Liga matchweek 30 and Premier League matchweek 31 results post. I will update the missing results tomorrow as the matches have ended.
