Juventus v Real Madrid, Combined best XI

Juventus v Real Madrid Champions League Final will be played tomorrow night. Here are the best possible starting XI’s for both sides, and a combined best XI of both teams.

So, Juventus v Real Madrid, Champions League Final 2016-2017 will be played tomorrow. There is not many things that has not already been said, written, heard, read etcetera. I posted a lengthy Juventus vs Real Madrid match preview yesterday as well. You can find a match preview, overview of both teams, statistics for the match and obviously best odds for the match from that post.

This post is about the best line-up’s for the match (or possible line-up’s at this point, as the official lineup’s arent published yet). But also to compare the teams, position for position. Which team has strongest player on each and every position on the pitch.

Juventus v Real Madrid combined best XI; Goalkeeper and defensive line-up.

Starting with maybe the easiest choise for Juventus v Real Madrid. That is the man between the sticks, goalkeeper. It has to be Gianluigi Buffon, it just has to be. Even if Keylor Navas might even be the best goalkeeper in the world when he’s on form (like the last campaign as a whole, or last few matches this season). But he has struggled with form this season, ever since his injury. And Gigi Buffon is, well he’s a goalkeeper of legendary status no matter what team you support. And despite myself being a Real Madrid supporter, Buffon winning the Champions League would not be a disaster for me. That being said, i still root for Real Madrid wholeheartedly during the match, not a fan of many other Juventus players.

The defensive line-up is rather simple to list out. From left to right; Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Bonucci, Dani Alves. The only position which made me think was that of the right back, Dani Alves. Because the one player who actually might be better right back right now plays in the opposite team; Dani Carvajal. But since Carvajal is not even certain to take part in the final, Dani Alves is a suitable replacement, he is one hell of player as well (when he concentrates on playing football, not the drama or diving). Marcelo, there is none that could challenge him, not in RMA, not in Juve, not in any other team in the world. Sergio Ramos, some people like him, some people don’t. Even the people who hate his guts know he is the single greatest defender since Paolo Maldini. But he’s so much more than just a defender, he could play as a striker for most European teams. He was the most valuable player in Euro 2008 featuring as a right back, if i recall right. And the other centreback choise for the best combined Juventus V Real Madrid XI, Leonardo Bonucci. Bonucci because he is the best Centreback from the Juventus back line, he’s also one of the best CB’s in world football. It wasnt really a tough choise either, Varane’s form has been inconsistent for last few seasons. And Chiellini, as good as he is, is no match to Bonucci in comparison.

Juventus v Real Madrid combined best XI; Midfield.

The lineup for Juventus v Real Madrid combined best XI is somewhat simple as well. I mean, the best Juventus midfielder, is a former leftover from Real Madrid, with all due respect. The only problem is, which 3 midfielders from Real Madrid to choose. As all 4 are some of the best in the world on their position; Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco and Casemiro. The permanent 3 man midfield of Real Madrid Modric+Kroos+Casemiro has worked wonders. But Isco has been absolutely phenomenal in the last few years. It really goes down to the formation selection, in 4 midfielder line they all would fit in. But for the absolute best Combined XI i included a 3 midfielder line-up and it’s Modric, Kroos and Isco. Why 3? Well because there will be 3 forwards. Why all from Real Madrid? Well, they are simply few steps ahead on this part of the pitch, on paper anyway. Though, Juventus has Mario Mandzukic bossing around, but tomorrow he wont spend much time in the middle, likely more as a wingback if anything. Then there’s Miralem Pjanic, personally im not a fan, despite the man having an amazing shooting technique. Khedira, not a fan of him either. He’s a solid midfielder, and he wants to show to his old team what the “lost” tomorrow so maybe ill be surprised tomorrow. Cuadrado is another great midfield player, but honestly not equivalent to the before mentioned, also he’s more like a winger anyway.

Juventus v Real Madrid combined best XI; Attackers.

Well Cristiano Ronaldo is a given on any “best” team there is. The other one’s would have to be Gonzalo Higuain and Paolo Dybala. Karim Benzema, has been out of form for the whole season, so he’s not competing with Higuain. Gareth Bale has been injured for more than half of the season, not competing. James Rodriguez is lucky to make it to the bench of Real Madrid, out of competition. Marco Asensio is still a kid, even if a very promising kid. Alvaro Morata, the former Jvuentus forward, is for some reason sitting on Real Madrid Bench. If he played for Juventus, he would 100% start the match tomorrow. It really is a shame, Zidane sees something in Benzema that no other person does. Though Benzema’s mazy run which lead to the crucial goal against Atletico Madrid just may have deserved him a starting Place in the Champions League Final. But Morata is the BEST goals/played time player in Real Madrid. In fact he has one of the best goals/played time ratio in Europe. But still as of right now, he wouldn’t push any of CR7 or Dybala out of the Juventus v Real Madrid combined best XI. Higuain he might have a chance to replace, but it would be ridiculous to install him, as he is likely not going start the match on the pitch. It’s completely possible that he wont even make appearance throughout (shame to say so).

That is MY take on the Juventus v Real Madrid best combined XI. Though i might have to alter the formation/players a bit, if Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal was fully fit going into the Champions League final 2016-2017 in Cardiff. Check out the Juventus vs Real Madrid post, that post includes a lengthy match preview, team overview’s, statistics and best odds for the match.
